A Comparison of the Subcutaneous and Intradermal Methods of Immunization with T.A.B. Vaccine—An Experimental Study
نویسندگان
چکیده
Active immunization against typhoid and paratyphoid group of fevers is done by the timehonoured subcutaneous method of inoculation with T.A.B. vaccine. Tuft (1931) advocated the intracutaneous method of immunization by 4 doses of triple typhoid vaccine in doses of 0.05, 0.1, 0.15 and 0.2 c.c. with an interval of 5 to 7 days between one injection and the next. His conclusions were based on the agglutinin titrations of the individuals. Later he (Tuft, 1940) reported the results of mouse protection tests with pooled sera from 9 individuals who were inoculated intracutaneously with 3 doses of typhoid vaccine (0.1, 0.15 and 0.2 c.c.) at weekly intervals. A number of other workers have published papers on the subject, viz, Valentine et al. (1935), Perry (1937), Wyandt et al. (1938) and Van Gelder and Fisher (1941).

Comparison of Immune Responses following Intradermal and Intramuscular Rabies Vaccination Methods
Rabies is a zoonotic viral disease. The causative agent is a negative-sense RNA genome virus of the genus Lyssavirus (Family: Rhabdoviridae). The disease, commonly transmitted by rabid dogs, is the cause of mortality of over 59000 humans worldwide annually. This disease can be prevented before the development of symptoms through proper vaccination even after exposure. Hence, improvement of the ...
متن کاملPotentiation of human papilloma vaccine candidate using naloxone/alum mixture as an adjuvant: increasing immunogenicity of HPV-16E7d vaccine
Objective(s): Many types of human papillomaviruses (HPVs) have been identified, with some leading to cancer and others to skin lesions such as anogenital warts. Studies have demonstrated an association between oncogenic HPV and cervical cancer and many researchers have focused on therapeutic vaccines development. At present, the modulatory effect of opioids on the innate and acquired immune sys...
متن کاملImmune Response Following Oral Immunization with BCG Encapsulated in Alginate Microspheres
Background: Different methods have been used for BCG vaccination. Alginate microspheres are useful in delivery of vaccines to the gastrointestinal tract by oral route. Objective: To compare the immune response following oral microencapsulated and subcutaneous (SC) route administration of BCG vaccine in BALB/c mice. Methods: Alginate microspheres were produced by an internal emulsification metho...
متن کاملVisualization of Leishmania tropica Infection in BALB/c Mice by Bioluminescence Imaging
Background: Leishmania tropica is the cause of more than one form of leishmaniasis and lacks a known reservoir animal. This study compares the potential infectivity of recombinant and wild-type L. tropica in BALB/c mice. Methods: The potential infectivity of recombinant L. tropicaEGFP or L. tropicaEGFP-LUC by two different, the subcutaneous and intradermal, routes was compared using a range of ...
